How the BrightGrid Lease Works for You

The BrightGrid Lease allows homeowners to switch to solar energy without the large upfront cost of purchasing the system. Here’s how it works:

  1. Make a modest upfront payment and switch to solar energy,
  2. Buy a lot less electricity from the utility company (and maybe even sell some back to them),
  3. Make monthly lease payments to BrightGrid for the solar energy system,
  4. Purchase the system at the end of the lease, or don’t.
  1. Replace the large upfront purchase cost, with a small upfront payment
  • Instead of buying the solar energy system and incurring a large upfront expense, a small initial payment is all you need to switch to solar energy.
  • One of our affiliate solar installers will visit your home and professionally install the system that’s right for your needs.
  • This can make your decision to switch to solar energy an easier one, and it means that you won’t have to give up a lot to ‘go solar’.
  1. Get ready for a new relationship with the utility company
  • The solar energy system on your roof will replace a significant portion of your energy needs, and will immediately lower your dependence on your utility company (and your utility bill).
  • What’s more, is that you may actually sell electricity back to the utility company at times when the system is producing more than you use.
  • Your new two-way relationship with the utility company allows you to reduce your dependence on the traditional grid, and supply others around you with green energy when you’re not using it (how’s that for sharing with your neighbors).
  1. Enjoy an ongoing relationship with BrightGrid
  • The future looks bright, and we’ll be there to share it with you. From the very beginning, you’ll know exactly what your scheduled payments to BrightGrid will be over the term of the lease.
  • You make monthly predetermined lease payments to BrightGrid throughout the lease term, resulting in much more price certainty around your future electricity expenses.
  • We strive to save you money by giving you more of what you want, and letting you decide what you need. We let you discuss maintenance options with the installer and let you define what type of ongoing maintenance program is right for you.
  1. Eventually...
  • We provide you with various end of lease options to choose from, based on what you think is right for you.
  • At the end of the lease term, and at a certain point along the way, you will have the option to purchase the system at a fraction of its original cost.
  • As such, with each lease payment, you are constantly moving towards potentially owning the system if you wish.
  • Alternatively, at the end of the lease term, you can also choose to enter into a new lease agreement with us, or decide that you have benefited sufficiently from the system and have the system uninstalled and returned to us.
  • If you decide to sell your house you can simply ask us to approve a transfer of the lease to the new homeowner, or you can buy-out the lease altogether.
